The Dining Area

A window-wrapped dining nook with deck access. Sooke Basin views on every side.

Open to both the kitchen and living room, the dining area sits in a bright, window-wrapped corner of the house. A round extendable wood table and black Eames-style chairs set on a woven jute rug and the same vaulted cedar ceiling ties the space visually to the rest of the main floor.

Large floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors surround the table on nearly every side. One bank looking out over tall trees at the front of the property, another opening directly onto the deck with sweeping views of the Sooke Basin and the hills beyond. It's an easy, connected space: close enough to the kitchen for the cook to stay part of the conversation, and just steps from the deck for anyone who wants to carry their plate outside.
